Overall I would recommend this capture device but I wouldn't buy it again for myself. The software is ok but you do need to have had a bit of experience in setting up this sort of software which luckily I had as used this particular one, but an older version, many years ago. (Prior to that I had the box connected to another motion detection recorder and the colour was brilliant so I know it is not down to there not being enough light in the box.) Anyhow, it works, and it is much more convenient to be able to watch my nest box on my pc than transfer video files from another recorder. USB Video Capture Dongle For MacOS For Macintosh owners with older analog video gear such as a Game System, VHS VCR, Camcorder, or DVD Player, a low-cost external USB capture gadget can help transfer content onto your Mac computer for digital editing, transcoding and saving to nearly any desired digital file format.
It does the job and is good for the price but the colour is wishy washy and although saturation is turned up high I can not get good colour in the box.
It was dead easy to connect up to my pc and to the camera in my nest box, but I had to download special software (suggested to me after emailing Green Feathers when I realised the software on the disk is only good for transferring video files to DVD and had no motion detection feature).
